TAG's leaders possess extensive experience in the retirement plan industry. They have demonstrated expert knowledge in building customer relationships and providing leadership in the market.
Michael co-founded the Technical Answer Group, Inc. (TAG) in 1994, and served as the company's vice president and technical expert for 13 years. In that position, he answered or reviewed thousands of questions, posting the most relevant to the TAG website. He also developed a number of interactive spreadsheets to aid in the application of certain specific regulations to client situations.
Michael began his career in the qualified retirement plan field in 1976, shortly after ERISA became effective. He spent nearly 20 years working as a retirement plan administrator and actuarial analyst in New York City, Miami, Pittsburgh and Atlanta. Michael has been involved in all aspects of the qualified plan field, including the design and implementation of plans; document restatement; consulting; research, providing technical interpretations, explanations and guidance.
Michael became TAG's technical director when the company was acquired by Wolters Kluwer, and was integrated into the Business Compliance unit in Wolters Kluwer Law & Business.

Joanne’s responsibilities include developing strategic alliances and new products to assist TAG customers.
She has nearly 30 years of experience in the retirement plan field. She has worked closely with TAG customers since the company was acquired by Wolters Kluwer in 2007. Previously, managed teams of administrators, developed and led a small retirement plan administration unit for SunTrust Bank, NA and worked with regional bank trust departments. Joanne was instrumental in growing the TAG customer base after she joined the company in early 2004 in the Sales and Marketing group.
Because Joanne’s background includes working with both large and small retirement plans, participating in industry groups and being involved in various industry conferences, she possesses a unique perspective when discussing customer needs, whether it be human resources or technical research materials.

Acquisition Strengthens Leadership in Retirement Plan Administration Market
Wolters Kluwer Law & Business announced today that it has acquired ftwilliam.com, a software as a service (SaaS) company providing third-party administrators (TPAs) and other retirement plan professionals integrated workflow solutions to automate administrative functions as well as securely comply with 5500 filing requirements.
